MANCHESTER JUDGE BATH 16

I would like to thank the Committee at Bath for inviting me to judge at this years show and entrusting me with my first opportunity to award Challenge Certificates. I was pleased with my entry and would like to thank all the exhibitors for entering and the good atmosphere that was present at the ring side. My two stewards were stars and added to my positive experience.

Puppy Dog (4,2abs)

1. Mrs V & Miss L Sharpe’s Erkenwyne Othello At Rosettia. A youngster at just over 7 months but of solid construction and plenty of bone. He moved well from all of my visual angles and I am sure one that will mature early into a good all round dog. His ears were forward but slightly unsettled at times, he is lean with excellent muscle and shown in excellent condition.

2. Mrs C Straughan & Mr D Cripps’s Talanors In For A Treat. A smaller dog to 1 however remained compact. Lost to one on movement today however overall he was full of sparkle which reflected in him appearing alert and keen. Well constructed with all breed points and on another day places could easily have swapped.

Junior Dog (3, 1abs)

1. Mrs D Church’s Rattustrap Charlie Brown. A smart youngster that moved with drive when in full stride, he paced at times however soon corrected into a good pattern when on the move. Good markings and ear carriage with a keen alert expression. Was impressed with his size and will have a lot to offer the breed in the future I am sure.

2. Mr & Mrs N Wildgust’s The Black Pirateer. A 17 month old dog who wasn’t too happy in the ring today. Saying that I was pleased with him on the table and he is a very handsome well constructed dog visually. In time I hope his handler can get the best out of him as I am sure he has a lot of potential.

Novice Dog (1, 0)
1. Mrs V & Miss L Sharpe’s Erkenwyne Othello At Rosettia.

Post Graduate Dog (1, 0)

1. Ms R Pletz & Mr S Kazantzis’s Pauceline Duster. A compact dog who moved well. His tan is a little light however it highlighted his markings, especially his thumbspots, to their full potential. He has a lovely almond eye and beautiful shaped and postioned ears. His tail did not stop wagging during the judging and he was clearly enjoying the day.

Limit Dog (1,0)

1. Miss C Priestman’s Felfree Top Oscar. Here is a dog that did not stop showing, He took my eye immediately not only with his conformation and movement but also his perfect size, strong front, excellent markings, pleasing head and correct ear carriage. He pushed so hard at the end for the CC and he was so close. So much to offer the breed and I have to say is a credit to the breeder and also his present owner who has presented him in excellent fit condition. Reserve Dog CC.

Open Dog (6,0)

1. Mr S Carter & Ms C Harrison’s Ch Digelsa Declaration . Another dog presented in excellent condition and showed to perfection. Pleasing movement, with drive and energy, he is lively and full of spirit. He meets all the breed points, however one of his selling points is his ring presence and a handsome head and eye that just says quality. In the line up he had a natural elegance with perfect profile, slight rise over the loin. When I asked him to move again in the dog challenge he confirmed my decision to award him the Dog CC and eventually awarding him the BOB.

2. Mr C & Mrs G Knight’s Ch Westbank Blue Diamond For Talanors. Compact dog and of the correct height. He moved proud and with drive which was pleasing from all visual angles. Excellent markings with perfect ear carriage and keen expression arising from an excellent almond shaped eye. Shown to perfection and in tip top condition.

3. Mrs V Saville’s Ch Calastoa’s Man In The Mirror ShCM

Puppy Bitch (1,0)

1. Mr M, Mrs G & Miss S Oxley’s Digelsa D’Amour. 10 month young lady who clearly is full of life and enjoying her day out. She is feminine in body and very elegent. She has a lovely head and excellent movement that was shown to her best advantage by perfect handling. Lovely markings and excellent ear carriage. Best Puppy In Breed.

Junior Bitch (2,0)

1. Mrs D Barlow’s Nighfury Bold Venture JW. Here is an attractive youngster that is developing into a pretty feminine young lady. She has a strong wedge shaped head and an excellent ear carriage that excels her feminine qualities. She was not 100% happy on the move today however stood well and has an excellent visual profile.

2. Miss W Heller’s Limoncello Cecilia Beaux. A pretty bitch that pushed hard for first, she was also pleasing on the eye and had positive movement in all angles. Larger in head size than one.

Novice Bitch (1,0)

1. Mrs V Saville’s Egloshayle Northern Lass to Dobermation. A bitch taller in size but remained feminine with a pretty head and pleasing eye. She stood solid on the table and was clearly enjoying her day, she gave 100% showing in the lovely sun. Lovely markings and good thumb spots completed her overall picture.

Post Graduate Bitch (1,0)

1. Mrs V & Miss L Sharpe’s Rosettia High Hopes. Another pretty compact bitch with all breed qualities. I liked her a lot and found her to be very pleasing on the eye . She moved well, although I note a little close behind on the walk at times today, this should not take anything away from her.

Limit Bitch (4,0)

1. Miss B Cawley Marlablue In A Twirl. This bitch caught my eye immediately, she had one of the best movements I have seen for a long time and she flowed in harmony from the time she walked into the ring. She was both compact and elegant and her head shape was excelled by a pleasing ear carriage and lovely almond eye. Excelling in all breed points and markings as per the breed standard I had no doubt of my choice to award her the Bitch CC later in the unbeaten bitch line up. I was made aware afterwards that this was her 3rd CC and I can fully appreciate why.

2. Mrs V Saville’s Quercetti Isadora For Dobermatian ShCM. Another lovely moving feminine bitch, she was not too happy on the table today but I could see all I needed to see to be happy to award her the 2nd in this class. Her tan is a little lighter than that on 1. She has a lovely pleasing eye, ear carriage, standing profile.

3. Miss A Bovill’s Rattustrap Maid Marian

Open Bitch (3,0)

This was one of the hardest classes, as I initially glanced at the line up I was presented with three beautiful bitches in perfect profile. I could see that this class would be the hardest.

1. Miss E Saxton, Mr P Dale & Mrs J Emrick. Ch Rattustrap Imperial Red JW. A lovely bitch who is only a little over two years old. She was handled to perfection which showed off her excellent movement. She flowed like a dream and on closer inspection you could see why – she has strong muscle and in excellent condition. Her head, expression eye and ear carriage are perfect and complete the overall picture. Pushed hard for the CC in the challenge and had to settle for the Res CC today.

2. Messrs J & C Scanlon’s Ch Digelsa Dixie Chick at Pantycelyn. Another lovely bitch of excellent quality, she had the most pleasing head and again the picture was completed with excellent ear and eye.
Her movement was positive in all directions and I could not fault it. Markings strong and to breed standard. Sadly I can only award one first however this was a close one.
3. Mr & Mrs Symington’s Talanors Secret Treat.
