MANCHESTER BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 21 Judge: Mr Peter Forshaw I would like to thank the committee of the Birmingham National for this my first CC appointment in Manchester Terriers. Also to the exhibitors for entering. Thank you.All mouths and temperaments good and some difficult decisions especially in the open bitch class which is good for the future of the breed. 1 Oxley’s Digelsa Double Agent. Substantial 12 months old impressive male, well up to size, who commands attention. He is so masculine and has an excellent wedge shaped head of good proportions with dark almond shape eye, ears well set and carried high on his head giving a pleasing expression. His neck is of good length and clean leading into well placed shoulders. His legs are straight and set well under with good markings His body is of equal proportions to length of leg with good spring of rib. He has a slight raise of top line over croup with well set tail. He has strong hindquarters with good turn to stifle. Put out in excellent condition His movement does need to steady and tighten and wouldn’t like him to grow anymore but was pleased to award him the CC. 1 Plant’s Plantocracy Bold Bruce JW. A 2 year old in excellent condition who has a pleasing head with dark expressive eye. His ears are well set and has a good length to his neck leading into well placed shoulders, deep chest and spring of rib and body of good proportions. To be critical, would prefer a shorter pastern but overall a pleasing dog with a lot to like, moved and handled well. RCC. 2 Usher’s Digelsa Dark Sensation. Another pleasing 2 year old, slightly bigger than one but very well balanced and similar attributes of one. He is well bodied with good bone and substance, he has a pleasing masculine head which is well filled with a dark almond shaped eye, his ears just need to lift and be a touch higher, he is well boned with clear markings, his movement is so sound fore and aft and expertly handled. Unlucky to meet one who was in great form. 1 Spain’s Ch Talanors Diamond Tornado. A dog I have judged before and unlucky to meet younger dogs in great form, but still lots to like, and of good breed type and presented in great condition. He has a pleasing head with nice kind eye, lean neck, well placed shoulders and strong hindquarters which he put to great use when moving, he is well balanced with pleasing body proportions. 2 Warner’s Talanors Time For Fun. In good condition but was carrying a touch too much weight which spoiled his outline, he has a pleasing head with dark eye. His body is of good proportions but would like to see his legs set under rather than the side and a little more depth, but that said, he still has lots to like, moved and handled sympathetically. 1 Olbinson’s Paucelin Andoni At Carapast. Sound 11 year old who belies his age. Good head of good proportions, ears well set, good front angulation and strong hindquarters, which he used well on the move, sound movement fore and aft. 2 Hobbs’ Paucelin Falster. 7 years, of good breed type with very good head, eye and ears, pleasing angulation front and rear and pleasing body proportions, not as positive on the move as first. MPB 1 Johnson’s Carapast Dark Shadows. 7 months old, pleasing in size, she has a pretty feminine head with dark eye, ears need to settle but when used carried high on top of head, parallel front with good markings and nice shapely body with everything in the right place, shows promise, moved and handled well. BPIB. 1 Watkins’ Ruffagga Bewitching Girl. Pretty and feminine, 19 months, who is well balanced with a pleasing head and dark kind eye, decent length to neck, leading into shapley body and rise over croup with well set tail which she carried well on the move. Her markings are clear. Steady mover coming and going, just needs to settle on the table. PGB 1 Walker’s Sizlin Hey Good Lookin. This youngster just did not like this venue and took time to settle but when she did, what I saw I liked. Just out of junior and is a nice size with enough bone, she is pretty and feminine with pleasing head and eye, ears a little on the large size but she used them well. She has a shapely body with good tail carriage. She has strong hindquarters which she used once she settled. Markings quite dark which I hope will clear to give a more defined thumbprint. 2 O’Boyle’s Plantocracy Hermione. Another bitch of pleasing size with nice head and eye but could have better ear carriage, well defined markings, parallel front with good feet, steady mover. 1 Gouldsborough’s Talanors Typically Magic. Another youngster who wasn’t enthralled with the venue and was a little overawed today. Stood she has a pleasing head and eye Shapley body nice front and rear but was unable to assess her movement. OB Best class of the day and all would be worthy winners and could change places on another day. 1 Brown & Davies’ Digelsa Dark Indulgence At Wystry JW. 3 years old with classic lines and shape just would prefer to be a tad shorter and a shorter pastern to complete the picture, she has clean wedge shaped head with dark eye and pleasing ear set, lean neck leading into well set shoulder, front deep with legs set well under her body. Strong hindquarters which she used well on the move and at one with her handler which won her the class pleased to award her CC and BOB. 2 Straughan’s Talnors Time To Shine At Mannikai. Another good example of the breed with pretty feminine head and pleasing eye and ears set high to give a pleasing expression. Curvaceous body with pleasing tail set, front a little narrower than I prefer and would like to see a shorter pastern moved well going away tended to toe a little in front. I’m sure her time will come. 1 Cawley’s Marlablue In A Twirl. A bitch I have judged before and still doesn’t disappoint. 7 years old of excellent breed type with a gorgeous curvaceous body. She is pretty and feminine with a nice wedge shaped head and dark eye leading into a compact well proportioned body and of excellent size, she has good angulation front and rear and a pleasing tail set, at one with her handler, pushed hard for top awards. BV.
