MANCHESTER JUDGE BOSTON 23

PD (1)

1. Davies & Brown’s Wystry Dempsey’s Tipple. 12 mth old who has lots to like. Of good type, he presents a compact outline, pleased for size and has the elegance desired in the breed. Masculine headpiece with flat skull of good length, dark almond-shaped eyes, well placed ears, clean cheeks and scissor bite. Slightly arched neck of good length, nice short back, deep chest, ribbed well back, firm loin and tail of good set with acceptable carriage. Standing well in front on correct feet and moving out well on the go around. Well-marked with lovely rich tan. Best Puppy.

PGD (2)

1. Bunning’s Ysabelkid Dusty Fog TAF. This 18 mth old was a comfortable winner in this class for me. Pleasing overall type and good to go over given his correct construction. He is a little longer than the ideal but nothing untoward; nicely arched neck of good length, firm topline with slight arch over the loin, deep brisket, well sprung ribs, good cut-up and tail of good set and carriage. Wedge-shaped head with narrow skull of good length, expressive eyes, clean cheeks, ears not perfect but acceptable and correct dentition. Stands well naturally and has good feet. Moving out freely. Well handled.

2. Simpson’s Perriford Charmer. This 3 yr old lad is heavier built all through and not presenting such a smooth, elegant outline as winner. He has enough neck, deep brisket, pleasing topline with slight arch over the loin and correct croup and tail set. Good length to his flat skull, ears of correct size and set, eye of good colour but a little rounder than preferred and good dentition. Standing on good feet. Moves true when coming towards, a tad wider when going away and profile action could not match that of winner.

OD (6,1)

1. Knight’s Ch Talanors Typically Elite. I thought the first two here stood out. My winner was this 3 yr old who immediately caught my eye from across the ring. He presented a compact outline with slightly arched neck of good length to balance, firm topline, good depth to chest, well sprung ribs which are carried well back and tail good for length and set. Masculine head of good length, flat narrow skull, dark eyes of correct shape, V-shaped ears set above top line of head and scissor bite. Well made all through and stands well naturally on correct feet for the breed. Moving true with particularly good profile action and certainly the best tail carriage in the class. Best Dog.

2. Plant’s Plantocracy Bold Bruce JW. This 3 yr old is another good one, scoring for overall type and balance. Fairly long neck, nice short back, good depth to brisket, super ribbing, muscular loin and tail set on correctly. Most attractive head; flat skull of good length, eye of good colour but not quite shape of winner, ears correct for size and set, well filled under eyes and correct dentition. Soundly constructed all through and moves true on the down and back with such good carriage. Tail carried somewhat higher than the ideal. Excellent colour and presented in super hard condition. Reserve Best Dog.

3. Harrison’s Greenjack Norris Cole at Rosadyva

SBD (1)

1. Bunning’s Ysabelkid Dusty Fog TAF. Best Special Beginners.

PB (2,1)

1. O’Boyle’s Plantocracy Goddess Gloria. 7 mth old bitch who was really rather nervous and therefore not easy to fully assess. Feminine pup with a pleasing outline; compact with good length of neck, firm topline, ribcage extending well back, short loin and tail of good set. Narrow head with flat skull, eyes of good colour although a little rounder and correct dentition but overall expression spoilt by incorrect ear carriage. She stands straight in front but obviously needs time to fill out. On the down and back gait looks true but profile action hard to determine.

JB (2)

1. Sharpe’s Rosettia Keepsake. Just coming up to 13 mths old, this girl was an easy winner in this class and I thought her a quality exhibit. Feminine all through, she presented a nicely balanced outline with neck of good length, correct topline, deep brisket, lovely ribbing, firm loin, good underline and tail of correct set and excellent carriage. Quality head with super expression; flat narrow skull, the best of eyes and ears, well filled under eyes and scissor bite. Soundly constructed all through and standing on correct feet. Moving freely with good carriage and shown in super hard condition. Lovely rich tan.

2. O’Boyle’s Rattustrap Happy to Be Here at Ruffagga. 13 mth old who has a pretty good outline with neck of good length to balance, deep brisket, short back, firm topline, rib developing well for age and good underline. Good skull to muzzle proportions and scissor bite but felt she has more stop than desired, eyes of good colour but not shape of those of winner and ear carriage not ideal. Moving true on the down and back but front action a tad exaggerated when viewed in profile. Tail carried too high.

PGB (2)

1. O’Boyle’s Plantocracy Hermione at Ruffagga. 3 yr old who won here on outline being the better balanced of the two. Elegant girl with slightly arched neck of pleasing length, short back, chest of good depth, ribbed well back, good cut-up and tail correct for set and carriage. Good length to skull and correct dentition but eye and ear not quite what I was looking for. She stands on correct feet and also scored over two on the go around.

2. Watkins’ Ruffagga Bewitching Girl. Coming up to 3 yrs, unfortunately this girl was having a phantom and therefore not looking her best and was not at all happy. Smaller than the winner and lacking the elegance of winner. However, I much preferred the head and expression of this girl; narrow skull of good length, lovely eye and ear, clean cheeks and scissor bite. Standing well naturally on good feet and although she moves pretty well on the down and back, she could have moved out more on the go around. Lovely rich tan.

OB (6,1)

1. Knight’s Ch Talanors Typically Special. Good quality class which saw this 5 yr old bitch come out victorious. She ticked all the boxes for me being of excellent type, correct for size, soundly constructed and feminine all through. Smooth, flowing outline with slightly arched neck of correct length to balance, short back, deep brisket, excellent ribbing, good underline, short muscular loin and tail just right for length, set and carriage. Super headed girl with the best of expressions; flat skull of good length, dark almond-shaped eyes, V-shaped ears of correct set, well filled under the eyes and scissor bite. Good angles front and rear and standing nice and straight in front on correct feet for the breed. Moving freely all through and so very well handled. Best Bitch & BOB.

2. Walshaw’s Kentwone Lyra at Janmark. 15 mth old. Quality youngster who scored for size and type and is so very well balanced and I thought her similar to the winner in many respects. Feminine head with flat skull of good length, expressive dark almond-shaped eyes, perfect ears, clean cheeks and scissor bite. Compact in outline and elegant all through, yet certainly not appearing weedy in anyway. Slightly arched neck of good length, firm topline with slight arch over the loin, deep brisket, good length to ribcage, correct underline and tail spot on for set and carriage. Straight forelegs, standing on good feet and muscular hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Moving true and driving well from the rear. Reserve Best Bitch.

3. Davies & Brown’s Ch Digelsa Dark Indulgence at Wystry JW
