MANCHESTER JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 12

Manchester Terriers

There was a good entry of 43 dogs but I found size rather alarming & many had tails that were carried far too high when moving. Some were far too big & movement generally was not great. Temperaments were excellent. Coats, colour & markings ditto.

VD (1)

1 Baybrook's Ch Gloryline Sir Thomas More, 71/2 years, up to size, masculine head, dark eyes, serious expression, focused showman with good attitude, excellent body, coat & condition, well marked, moved OK. Could be a little more animated when going round but he was on his own so not much incentive for a terrier.

PD (5)

1 Hituri & Vorta's Rettustrap Englands Own, 9 months, classy head, intelligent expression, glossy coat, in hard condition, good quarters, well handled, keen expression. Front movement needs to settle & tail carriage too gay when moving;

2 Pyne's Brockenella's Chancer at Budley, 6 months, dark eyes. Needs to grow into his rather large ears. Shapely body, well conditioned, attractive puppy, needs to improve in movement;

3 Baville's Calestoe's Man In The Mirror.

JD (2)

1 Parker's Mansiya Magnetic Man, 17 months, could be a little more masculine all round but well proportioned, steady showman, good coat & body, excellent feet, good thumbprints, well conditioned. Would like a bit more enthusiasm on the move;

2 Simpson's Leircote Cee Lo, 14 months, looking a bit leggy & needs to drop in body. Keen expression, dark eyes, good topline. Doesn't want to carry any more weight. Moved OK, well handled.

PGD (2)

1 Charlton's Digelsa Diamond Geeza at Lizelms, masculine dog with typical head & expression, good bone, body & proportions, well handled & conditioned. Gay tail carriage spoils outline on the move;

2 Hemsell's Tetani Wizard Of Dreams, not keen on using his ears, showmanship generally could be a bit more enthusiastic. Excellent thumbprints. Could move with a bit more reach in front.

LD (4)

1 RCC, Eva's Sophyla Sam Brown, good size & type, would like a little more push behind. Good length of head, dark eyes, good body & overall balance, well carried tail, handled to best advantage;

2 Clifton's Gloryline Henry The Seventh, quite lively, took time to settle. Masculine head, good bone & outline, well sprung ribs, adequate mover. Would like eyes a shade darker;

3 Olbinson & Kelly's Paucelin Andoni at Carapast.

OD (2)

1 CC, Dunford, Akrigg & Walton's Ch Quixol Alexander, very smart & showy, good head & expression, well carried ears, very fit & well muscled with good topline & depth of body, lovely coat & condition, at one with his handler when moving, well up to size;

2 Renshaw & Robinson's Talanors Smart Treat with Westbank, little full in eye which took away from his expression. Shapely body. Did not really get moving with much drive, tendency to pace.

GCD (3)

1 Stedman's Mansiya Dare To Be Different, typical head & expression, good topline, bone, legs & feet, clean shiny coat, well conditioned & proportioned. Not quite true in front movement; 2 T Wizard Of Dreams; 3 Bodsworth's Brockenella's Bleddyn.

VB (3)

1 Hemsell's Tetani Princess Of Darkness, 101/2 years, still has all her teeth, quite distinguished looking with frosting on her foreface, feminine head & outlook, keen showgirl, moved quite well, good eye & proportions;

2 Tyrrell's Sophyla Sixpence, 9 years, had raided the food cupboard which reflected in her body. Quality head, devoted showgirl, moved OK. Silhouette spoilt by being overweight.

PB (5)

1 BP, Knight's Talanors Special Made Treat, 10 months, charming puppy who had an easy win here, quality head, the only one to carry her ears properly in this class. Shapely body, well balanced, good quarters, showed well when she wanted. Moved quite well, promising;

2 Morris' Calastoa's Lucky Star, failed in ear carriage. Good outline & depth of body, feminine head, dark eyes. Moving close behind;

3 Doherty's Malskred Khaleesi.

JB (3)

1 C Lucky Star;

2 Palmer's Egloshayla Fallen Angel, carrying plenty of weight & failed in topline to 1. Good coat & depth of body, moved OK but no animation.

PGB (3)

1 Harrison's Sophyla Sophie, failed a little in ear carriage. Good shape & proportions, clean & well presented coat, attractive head, good neckline, moved & showed quite well;

2 Hemsell's Tetani Spirit Of The Wind, 5 years, not in the mood here. Feminine head, good coat & depth of body, sympathetically handled. Rather plump & never settled to move in a coordinated way.

LB (9)

Much better class. Several in this class were shown a bit plump which did not help their silhouettes when moving.

1 Tyrrell's Larkswing Grand Glider, carrying too much weight but this did not affect her movement which was very good for this breed. Most attractive head, well carried ears, expressive eyes, steady showgirl;

2 T Taylor Made Treat, not as confident as 1 & could put a little more effort into her movement. Quality head, neat ears, good feet, well proportioned;

3 Dunford & Akrigg's Paucelin Armana by Quixol.

OB (4)

1 CC & BOB, Freer's Ch Mansiya Casting Circles with Falfree, easily the best mover in the breed, showed herself off beautifully, really looked the part, feminine & self assured with dark intelligent eyes, well carried ears, firm body, enough substance with that touch of elegance, excellent topline & quarters, superbly handled;

2 RCC, Palmer's Ch Egloshayle Sea Lily, typy bitch, in good form, pleasing head & eye, nicely arched over the loin, well conditioned, excellent body, showed well for her handler, moved quite well;

3 Oxley's Ch Digelsa De Ja Vu.

GCB (3)

1 T Princess Of Darkness;

2 S Sophie;

3 Hammett's Digelsa Double Take for Bryedal.
