MANCHESTER LKA 16 Judge: Mr Tom Mather (Barklots) BEST OF BREED : 6390 SCANLAN, Mr J C & SCANLAN Mr C M Ch Digelsa Dixie Chick At Pantycelyn MANCHESTER JUDGE LKA 16 Manchester Terriers Numerically a pleasing entry with some good exhibits. Hind action in a number of cases left a lot to be desired with some having a rather tucked under appearance & very little drive on the move. Some rather gay tails which does spoil the outline somewhat but on the plus side temperaments were excellent & most were shown in good condition & muscletone. MPD (2,1a) 1 Aspden’s Exdraco Tony Wilson, a well grown youngster who moved out quite soundly both ways. Good length of head, well shaped dark eye, ear carriage is still a little erratic. Decent forehand, fairly compact body but could carry a fraction more weight to advantage. Defined thumbprints & pencilling. Well named! PD (2,1) 1 Downie’s Egloshayle Prince Piran, masculine with good length of head with flat skull, decent ears, good forehand with adequate depth of chest & nice straight legs. Feet a tad too big but well shaped. Good markings. Strong & well muscled & this was reflected in his good action on the move. JD (2,1) 1 Straughan & Cripps’ Talanors In For A Treat, pleasing for both type & overall balance. Short coupled with strong, well muscled loin. Good neck & shoulders. Very rich tan with good thumbprints & pencilling. Sound but on the move he was leaning in to his handler giving him a slight ‘passage’ action. PGD (2) 1 Coutts’ Rattustrap Boris Citrov, decent head & eye with neat ears & keen expression. Good forehand with clearly marked thumbprints & pencilling. Good depth of brisket & short shapely body. Rather uncoordinated on the move as he kept pacing unfortunately. LD (7,1) 1 Hebb’s Paucelin Falster, most attractive head & expression with fairly small, well set ears, long narrow skull & keen expression. Good neck & shoulders, compact & with typical topline & cutup. Shown in good muscular condition. Sound, well balanced & typical; 2 Willis’ Talanors Super Treat, compactly made & shapely with typical topline. Fairly long head with neat ears. Good depth of brisket. Strong well muscled & angulated hindquarters. Presents a pleasing overall picture; 3 Priestman’s Felfree Top Oscar. OD (6) 1 Carter & Harrison’s Ch Digelsa Declaration, lovely size, type & balance & very impressive on the move as he has some reach in front & plenty of power from the rear. Head of good length with neat, well carried ears, small dark eye. Nicely arched neck, good forehand. Compactly built with slight arch over a well muscled loin. Good coat & markings. A top class dog. CC; 2 Walshaw’s Talanors Diamonds N’ Dreams avec Janmark, another smart & very well balanced dog of good quality. Attractive head & keen expression. Excellent forequarters with good length of neck & well laid shoulders. Shapely but maybe just a fraction longer cast than the winner. Like the winner he is impressive on the move with both reach & drive & he was shown in tip top condition. RCC today but he should easily finish at the top; 3 Knight’s Ch Westbank Blue Diamond for Talanors. GCD (1) 1 Olbinson & Kelly’s Paucelin Andoni at Carapast, stood fourth in the good open dog class & he is very typy & well balanced. Good size & compactly made. Rich tan, gloss coat & clear thumbprints & pencilling. Moved out well. MPB (4) 1 Saville’s Simjest Back To Black by Dobermatian, most attractive head & keen expression, good skull, neat well carried ears. Short coupled & quite shapely with a slight arch over the loin. Glossy coat with good markings. BP; 2 Harrison’s Magpiebank Teal, not quite the maturity of body of the winner but she too has a pleasing head & is shapely with a very typical outline. Moved out well with a free, fluid action; 3 Tavener’s Eaglespur Red Hot. PB (2,1) 1 Tavener’s Eaglespur Red Hot, good length of head, flat skull, ears still a tad untidy. Compactly made with slight arch over loin. Good thumbprints & pencilling. JB (4) 1 Oxley’s Digelsa D’Amour, very pleasing head & ears with a keen expression, good forehand with decent shoulders & well ribbed compact body with some cut-up. Feminine & well balanced & on the move she has plenty of power from the rear & some reach in front; 2 Marshall’s Talanors Treat Me Special at Jepejo, another who moved out with some drive & this gave her the edge here. Clearly defined markings. Adequate depth of brisket & good ribbing. Slight arch over loin; 3 Walker’s Talanors Treat Me Good at Sizlin. PGB (4,1) 1 Boot’s Ttombowor Princess Phoebe, shapely, compact & pleasing for overall size & balance. Flat skull, fairly neat ears & clear rich tan with good thumbprints & pencilling. Pleasing profile action & has some drive from the rear. Could be a little firmer in pastern; 2 Keates’ Simjest Lady Tiana, flat skull, ears could be a little neater, keen expression. Good neck & well laid shoulders. Typical topline with slight arch & some cut up. Not quite as free moving as the winner; 3 Walker’s Talanors Treat Me Good at Sizlin. LB (4) 1 Barlow’s Nightfury Bold Venture, well schooled & shows to good advantage. Pleasing head with good ears & keen intelligent expression. Shapely & well balanced with typical topline & some cut-up. Excellent forehand & good depth of brisket which was to her advantage today. Pleases on the move with a free, fluid action & some drive from the rear. RCC; 2 Moore’s Rattustrap War Dance to Zalman, I particularly liked her head & expression, very good outline with slight arch & some cut-up. Not quite the maturity of body of the winner. Moved soundly; 3 Bovill’s Rattustrap Maid Marian at Ingwine. OB (6,2) 1 Scanlan’s Ch Digelsa Dixie Chick at Pantycelyn, a lovely example of the breed shown in good bloom & muscletone. Good length of head with neat, well carried ears. Excellent forehand with good depth of chest, some cut up & strong well muscled loin this, combined with her very good tailset & carriage gives her a very typical outline. Glossy jet black jacket & rich tan with good markings. Moved out well with good drive from the rear & some reach in front. CC & BOB; 2 Saxton, Dale & Emrick’s Ch Rattustrap Imperial Red, impressive head qualities with neat well carried ears & keen sharp expression. Good forehand, presents a lovely outline with her good topline & some cut up. Moved soundly both ways; 3 Peacham’s Felfree A Touch Of Glam for Manrio. GCB (1) 1 Sharpe’s Rosettia High Hopes, typical, shapely & well balanced. Pleasing head & expression, shown in good muscletone. Pleasing profile action. TOM MATHER
