MANCHESTER JUDGE LEEDS 10

Manchester Terriers

I was very impressed with the depth of quality throughout the classes & consequently some very difficult decisions faced me.

PD (3)

1 Norris’ Brookstream Louis De Blue, masculine & impressive, nicely proportioned with excellent balance, good straight front with good shoulder, good rear angulation, strong head, good scissor bite & correct ear placement, lovely eye shape & colour, correctly marked, moved with enthusiasm & drive;

2 Marshall’s Janzins Man Of Mystery from Jepejo, another impressive young puppy, strong & masculine, plenty of substance coupled with good balance, markings accurate & clearly defined, desired topline, angulation & feet, fabulous head with plenty of fill under eyes, ears well placed giving correct expression, good bite. Slightly unsettled on move. When did settle, moved well;

3 Hemsell’s Tetani Wizard Of Dreams.

JD (2

1 Dunford & Akrigg’s Quixol Alexander, very lively & exuberant, has ‘look at me’ arrogance, substantial & impressive with masculine head, neck set well on good shoulders, good angulation & well proportioned to produce correct outline, fabulous head with great strength, correct eye, earset & bite, well marked, moved with great determination;

2 Hemsell’s Tetani Wizard Of Dreams, much finer & lighter boned than 1. Good balance, eyes very good, correct shape, markings good & clearly defined, good tailset & carried well. Movement slightly unsettled.

PGD (5

1 Morris’ Mansiya Word To The Wise at Calastoa, lovely head & expression, eyes correct shape, ears well set & held correctly, balanced with good neck, shoulders & topline coupled with good hindquarters, great depth, movement straight & true, beautifully presented in fit & hard condition;

2 Forshaw’s Janzins Rock Star, another strong & masculine, excellent front feet, good head, neck, shoulders & topline, very strong head with correctly shaped dark eyes, excellent scissor bite, nicely balanced, strong quarters with correct angulation, good bone & plenty of substance, carrying just right amount of weight, moved freely & positively, close up to 1;

3 Clowes’ Churnet Canzone.

LD (4)

1 Brander’s Churnet Concerto at Manfreya, up to size & imposing. Beautifully proportioned & balanced, radiates quality & masculinity, strong head with good shape ears & eyes, powerful scissor bite, excellent reach of neck & good topline held on move, correct front, well angulated, good depth, moved precisely with drive & finesse. RCC;

2 Beardow’s Talanors Hellova Treat for Sipowitz, lovely make & shape, tip-top condition, nice shaped head & eye, very good scissor bite, good feet, well placed shoulders, compact body with good bend of stifle, tail held correctly, handled to perfection to give very pleasing overall picture;

3 Goodwin’s Digelsa Dionysis.

OD (3)

1 Norris’ Ch Brookstream Marcus Banks, judged when was raw puppy & was impressed then, has matured to fulfil my expectations, nothing exaggerated, fits Standard in all departments, good head, good reach of neck, good front & correct feet, correctly angulated rear, good muscular condition, held good outline on move, used reach in front & drive from behind, sound. CC & BOB;

2 Morris’ Ch Calastoa Amber Nectar, gorgeous, upstanding, proportioned well with imposing head, reachy neck, correctly angulated, good body, well muscled hindquarters with good width of thigh, markings good, excellent bite, moved with style & accuracy;

3 Hebb’s Ch Sophyla Sterling Silver from Bellbrock.

PB (6)

Outstanding class of quality puppies, a delight to judge so many beautiful youngsters.

1 Braybrook’s Tudorbrook New Approach, super stance & outline, good for size, strong but feminine head with excellent eye & expression, lovely ears carried well, good bite, proportioned well with good balance, plenty of bone for height with tight feet, good shoulder placement & correct rear angulation, excellent condition, moved & showed with confidence. BP;

2 Saxton & Dale’s Egloshayle Sea Sprite of Rattustrap, another excellent puppy, very feminine with good front & rear, topline well held. Finer boned than 1 & slightly longer cast. Lost out to 1 mainly on strength of head & ears not held quite as well. Very well schooled & showed with great precision, moved steadily & accurately;

3 Palmer’s Egloshayle Sea Lily.

JB (2)

1 Dunford & Akrigg’s Quixol Pandora, lovely, great make & shape, very balanced picture, has strength of head but maintains femininity, good eye & bite, elegant neck, good shoulders & nicely proportioned body, good angulation, moved well with plenty of drive;

2 Coleclough’s Quixol Desdamona at Coleburke, smaller type than 1. Full of quality. Prefer slightly stronger head. Nice balance maintained during movement, good coat, ears used well, beautiful condition. Movement not quite as fluent as 1.

PGB (2)

1 Knight’s Talanors Special Treat, compact & feminine, balanced picture with pretty head & nicely proportioned body, well marked, enough bone for size, neat feet, moved perfectly straight at just right pace, good condition with gleaming coat;

2 De Lavis Trafford’s Kimblewick Tallulah with Tyburn, another very pretty & feminine, good markings & colour, outstanding ears, gorgeously neat, eyes good shape. Movement difficult to fully assess as slightly unsettled.

LB (6,1)

1 Palmer’s Egloshayle Black Rosewyn, very balanced & nicely proportioned, everything in right place, has strength but retains elegance, good bone & neat feet, good angulation, fabulous head with good eyes & well held ears, in top condition, fit & hard, moved very well indeed, pushed hard for RCC;

2 Braybrook’s Tudorbrook My Venturess, similar type to 1, plenty of strength in head, ears neat & held well, good for size & bone, well constructed, excellent coat with good markings, good length of neck, well laid shoulder & good depth. Movement not as positive as 1;

3 Churms’ Digelsa Dream Maker of Wystry.

OB (7)

Super collection of quality bitches, really difficult class to judge.

1 Morris’ Ch Calastoa Ruby Tuesday, outstanding, a real ‘pretty, pretty’, great strength in head & body but radiates femininity, eyes & ears exceptional, super neck, good front & back, moved elegantly & freely to demonstrate overall balance, presented & handled to perfection, worthy Ch. CC, pushed hard for BOB;

2 Oxley’s Ch Digelsa Double Entendre, has achieved high honours during career, took break to have litter & now returning to her best form, shown & presented to perfection, good head, bite & eye, ears neat & well held, body & bone in proportion, nothing exaggerated, moved soundly with good drive, looked good in profile. RCC;

3 Norris’ Brookstream Brooklyn. Breeders 1 Palmer’s Egloshayle, peas in a pod, so true to type, such continuity, handlers & dogs worked together to produce perfect unison on move, foot perfect, they moved as one; 2 Dunford & Akrigg’s Quixol, another lovely team of quality dogs, gave fine display. Not quite continuity of type or unison on move as 1.
