MANCHESTER LEEDS 12 Judge: Mr Tom Mather MANCHESTER JUDGE LEEDS 12 Manchester Terriers I enjoyed the Manchester Terriers, it was a splendid entry. I purposefully have not watched the breed since accepting the invitation to judge here so almost all the dogs were new to me. I congratulate breeders for the work they have done on the breed. Temperaments were excellent with only one puppy being a little unsettled on the table – she was quickly won round with a sausage! All the exhibits were in good coat & body condition. MPD (1) A. PD (1) 1 Saville’s Calastoa’s Man In The Mirror, good length of skull with a nicely shaped eye & well set ears, good length of neck & clean shoulders, well bodied with typical arch over loin. Strong well angulated hindquarters enabled him to move in good style. JD (1) 1 Clifton, Rosser & Roberts’ Gloryline Charles Brandon, good head with a nice eye, ears could be slightly higher, good neck & shoulders, well marked with rich tan & good pencilling, shapely & pleasing for size & with a lovely temperament he just needs to settle on the move & he should do well. PGD (4) 1 Olbinson & Kelly’s Paucelin Andoni, shapely well balanced dog with a pleasing head, nice eye & well set ears, good depth of chest & strong loin, very good hindquarters with good muscletone, moved well both ways & pleased in profile; 2 Hemsell’s Tetani Wizard Of Dreams, good skull & lovely eye, ears a tad lower set than the winner but he has a keen lively expression, well bodied with good rib & typical arch over the loin. Moved soundly; 3 Charlton’s Digelsa Diamond Geeza at Lizelms. LD (5) 1 Eva’s Sophyla Sam Brown, good showman who really made the most of himself here, good skull, neat ears & lovely sparkling eye, nicely arched, lengthy neck & good body with excellent topline, tailset & carriage. Sound on the move with some drive from the rear; 2 Clifton’s Gloryline Henry The Seventh, very typical & good moving, pleasing head & expression, well ribbed with typical cut up, sound & well marked; 3 Broadhurst’s Churnet Chorus. OD (9) A wonderful class with the first dog winning his third ticket followed by four excellent champions. 1 Goodwin’s Digelsa Dionysis, good size & very shapely, oozes with quality, pleasing head, nicely crested neck & clean well laid shoulders, good depth of body with typical arch over the loin, rich tan with excellent thumbprints, strong & purposeful on the move with both reach & drive.
