MANCHESTER JUDGE THREE COUNTIES 13

Manchester Terriers

I was pleased with the size of my entry, it being a weekday without CCs. All the dogs had a correct scissor bite although there was an odd dirty tooth, & they were all in good condition with gleaming coats. They all exhibited good temperament. All had thumbprints & clear markings but I do not like to see the huge vent markings & breeching that seem to be predominant nowadays. Size seems to be more of an issue than ever before – the first two words in the Standard are compact & elegant!

PD

1 Ferguson’s Felfree Rocket, 11 months & maturing nicely although well up for size. Strong masculine head, long level wedge skull with good underjaw & dark eyes, good clear markings. Ears a bit unsettled. Pleasing body shape. Moved well with plenty of reach at front & drive at the rear. Should do well. RBD.

JD

1 F Rocket; 2 Buxton’s Millacome Made In Heaven, 15 months, another one well up for size but nevertheless, correctly constructed. Robust masculine head with long muzzle & dark eye. Well sprung ribs with good tuck up. A bit unsettled & not as good on the move as 1;

3 Croft-Elliott & Barker’s Poricias Gargoyle for Argoel.

PGD (0).

OD

1 Beardow’s Int/World Ch Talanors Hellova Treat for Sipowitz, experienced dog at 5 years but still showing with exuberance. Handler did well to control him as his mind was on the ladies. Masculine head & skull, dark markings & keen expression. Good body shape with arched crest of neck, sufficient tuck up & strong muscular hindquarters. Moved with vigour. BD;

2 Eva’s Sophyla Sam Brown, well constructed dog, nearer to the ideal height for the breed. Good markings, used ears well. Seemed unsettled & not as fluid on the move as 1.

PB

1 Saxton & Dale’s Rattustrap Top Totty, 9 months & living up to her name already. Oozing with type & quality, very feminine head with keen, alert expression. Lovely crest of neck (when not looking up at her handler!) Clean shoulders, well sprung ribs, slight arch over the loin & good tuck up behind ribs, good backend with well bent stifle & neat feet. Moved beautifully with reach & drive. BOB & BP.

JB 1 R Top Totty;

2 Buxton’s Millacome Maid Of Magic, very pretty, feminine bitch, lovely expression, well marked with a good crest of neck, used her ears well. Pleasing body shape but movement not as good as 1.

PGB

1 M Maid Of Magic.

OB

1 Hammett`s Digelsa Double Take for Bryedal, compact, elegant looking bitch, good expression with small dark eyes & well carried ears, correct markings. Short body with good spring of rib & shapely tuck up. Moved OK. RBB.
