MANCHESTER WELKS 22 Judge: Mr Tony Allcock OBE A lovely day spent in glorious sunshine and with some beautiful dogs to adjudicate. Thanks to my very efficient stewards and to the exhibitors for the excellent entry. A wonderful class, brimming with quality. 1 Oxley’s Ch Digelsa Double Agent. 18 months. Beautifully conditioned, upstanding, masculine teenager that certainly has the swagger! His wedged shaped head viewed from above is beautifully balanced and contains dark, keen eyes, full of fire. Excellent mouth. Lengthy neck with arch at crest to compliment. Straight strong forelegs, clean shoulders, good spring of rib, strong loins slightly arched and well constructed hindquarters. A touch excitable on the move but this all added to the attraction. Presented in excellent coat and has impressive muscletone. BD. 2 Warner’s Talanors Time For Fun. Three and a half years, mature, well balanced and of correct size. He is presented in outstanding muscletone and condition. Head is beautifully balanced with an extremely alert expression from eyes well filled thereunder. Small, correct ears carried and used well. He has a secure topline with slight rise over strong loins, well muscled rear with correct tail set. Impressive on the move as he was so collected both coming and going, giving him the edge over third. RBD. 3 Knight’s Ch Talanors Typically Elite. Great size and shape, super colour and markings. Impressive head portraying super expression from appealing small almond shaped dark eyes. Neat ears and correct dentition. Slight arched neck into well placed shoulders, straight in front and well off for bone. Ample depth to body. In a hotly contested class he gave his handler a hard time which made a significant difference in this hotly contested class. 1 Oxley’s Black Bandits Anything Goes At Digelsa (Imp Deu). Beautiful quality youngster of great make and shape. Balanced feminine wedge shaped head with flat skull containing gorgeous dark almond shaped eyes, correct dentition. Lengthy neck well set on above well laid sloping shoulders. Ideal narrow front, straight strong forelegs. Admired her feet for size and shape. Impressive thumb prints and pencilling. Body has well developed ribbing, strong firm loins. Hindquarters are correctly angulated and muscular. Topline is finished with tail set on correctly. Presented in gleaming coat and fit hard condition. Champion in the making. 1 Westwood’s Eaglespur Guilder Rose. Well made with plenty of bone. Attractive feminine head, longish wedged shaped aiding pleasing expression. Excellent dentition. Neat ears of correct size, carried ok. Balanced all through. Ok for depth of tan and definition. An impressive mover, with reach of forehand extension coupled with plenty of drive from well constructed, strong hindquarters. 2 Watkins’ Ruffagga Bewitching Girl. Much smaller and finer but proportioned. Loved her deep black gleaming coat and rich mahogany tan; super thumbprints. Head rather fine, containing dark eyes. Ears well set. Excellent dentition. Moved out well holding tail and topline correctly. 3 Walker’s Sizlin Hey Good Looking. This bitch was also built on smaller lines. Excellent coat and condition but would prefer more of her. Moved ok. 1 Knight’s Ch Talanors Typically Special. Aptly named! On the stand she portrays that typical, balanced silhouette of a Manchester Terrier. Her forehand is so precise and accurate. Full of quality and optimum in size; feminine but poseessing substance. Her movement is careful, unexaggerated and decidedly true and sound, maintaining her excellent shape on the move. Glorious head qualities which cannot fail to attract attention set on a well set tapering neck. Rich tan markings. She filled my interpretation of the breed standard. BB & BOB. 2 Davies & Brown’s Ch Digelsa Dark Indulgence At Wystry JW. Another super feminine lady with correct bone and substance, demonstrating correct balance and shape. A beautiful head of excellent proportions, dark expressive eyes, fairly lengthy firm neck as required. Forequarters are moderately angulated and muscled hindquarters to boot. Presented in first class coat and condition. In harmony with her handler, she moved very soundly covering the ground with ease. Close call. RBB. 3 Straughan & Cripps’ Talanors Time To Shine At Mannikai. Feminine, of good bone but perhaps a tad up to size. Presented in gleaming coat. Mahogany tan and correct markings all through. Impressive head. Accurate on the move but her topline appeared to flatten slightly today. Another quality bitch making a lovely trio. |
