I was concerned by the overall size of some of the exhibits, particularly in the early dog classes. Dentition has improved, only a few misplaced teeth & occasional dental treatment on view. Temperament was first class & must be cherished & closely guarded. MPD (6) 1 Dewar’s Euphemia Drummer Boy, dark brindle, very eyecatching, lovely head shape & expression, level topline, compact body, moved well, one to watch, well handled; 2 Brown’s Aldermarbull’s Time To Shine, r/w compact body shape. Less mature than 1 but promising; 3 Brown’s Kiamirose Neopoleon Solo. PD (15,3a) 1 Stanway’s Waystaff Strikes Back, w/pied, beautiful head shape, dark eye, rose ears & lovely expression, straight front, legs well boned, compact body with level topline, pleasing hindquarters for age with well bent stifles, moved & handled very well, should have a very bright future. BP; 2 Dowse’s Rotherstaff Black Tie, dark brindle, very nice puppy, pleasing head, dark eye & neat ears, straight front. Handler tended to stretch him out at the back, making him look long, which he isn’t. Moved well; 3 Lawrenson’s Crossguns Tom Jones. JD (13,2) Some too big & had to pay the penalty. 1 Small’s Merimna Mind Your Own, dark brindle, good head, dark eye, straight clean front, compact, body, well boned legs, moved well; 2 Wheeler’s Denagar Lord Achilles, brindle, well shaped head, good stop & ear carriage, level topline, correct quarters, moved & handled well. Preferred expression of 1; 3 Lawrensen’s Crossgun Tom Jone. YD (9,4) 1 Pickett’s Valglo Tactition, dark br/w blaze, pleasing head & expression, correct body with level topline, well boned quarters, well bent stifle, moved freely; 2 Funnell’s Veklorra Barney Rebel at Powerpack, dark brindle, good head shape, pleasing expression. Ears need to settle, showed well; 3 Perry’s Mishdar I’m Still Waiting at Foxstaff. GD (6) 1 Gregory’s Wildstaff Mr Machismo, dark brindle, pleasing head & expression, neat ear carriage, straight front, well bent stifle, moved freely; 2 Fletcher & Seedhouse’s Granitangel Zircon, dark brindle, placed in puppy. Ears need to settle, still a baby; 3 Tittley & Bosanko’s Willowstaff New Addition at Garwstaff. PGD (8) 1 McTrusty’s Buddastaff Red Rouge, r/w blaze, lovely head shape, keen expression, dark eye, well boned straight front, level topline, good turn of stifle; 2 Trow’s Brizeacks Fire In The Hole, dark brindle, good head, nice eye & expression, strong muzzle, pleasing body properties; 3 Risby’s Faberglen Moon Rider. LD (20,3) 1 Atherton’s Buddastaff Midnight Sun at Lancstaff, r/w, lovely head & expression, clean straight font, close coupled, well ribbed body, in hard condition, good turn of stifle, moved freely; 2 O’Donnell’s Valglo Voo Doo, dark brindle, good head & expression, compact body, level topline held on the move, strong quarters, lots to like; 3 Waltham’s Dringshaw Valentino. OD (14,2) 1 De Coverley’s Aust/Gr Ch Koendida Umrum, white, excellent head & expression, dark eye, broad skull, deep through, well pronounced cheek muscles, distinct stop, strength in muzzle, clean straight front, close coupled body with depth in brisket & well sprung ribs, muscular hindquarters, in fit hard condition, moved freely with power & drive, shown & handled well. CC, BOB & G4. An excellent ambassador for the breed; 2 Wray & Hedges’ Leger Carrion Showing, dark brindle, beautiful head & expression, clean straight front, well ribbed compact body, level topline, muscular hindquarters, moved freely. Unlucky to meet 1 in such great form. RCC; 3 Smith’s Ch Pennsmith Billy Boy. MPB (7,3) 1 Parr’s Parbeau Virtuoso, good dark brindle, caught my eye straight away, lovely head & expression, dark eye & pleasing ear carriage, compact body shape, well ribbed for age, moved freely; 2 Funnell’s Kewaunee Pocahontas for Powerpack, dark brindle, very pleasing puppy, close decision; 3 Turner’s Trawen Snowball. PB (17.1) Lovely class. 1 Jackson & Whitehouses’ Bourtie What A Steal, dark brindle, scored in head & expression, clean straight front, level topline, good turn of stifle, should have a bright future; 2 Taylor’s Niatona Fifi La Flume, very smart puppy, beautiful head & body properties, close decision; 3 Baxter’s Zakstaff Black Velvet. JB (16,2) 1 Robinson & Hedges Leger Photo Finish for Ramblix, dark brindle, excels in head & body shape, well quartered with good turn of stifle, in fit condition, moved freely; 2 Bassford-Lane’s Jojolane Diamond Blush, r/w, beautiful picture, good head & expression with dark eye, tight lips, compact well ribbed body, moved freely; 3 Johnson’s Tillcarr Black Betty. YB (11,2) 1 Atherton & Kemp’s Tornadostorm Dancin Queen, dark brindle, good head, tight lips, clean front, level topline held on move, sound & showed well; 2 MacFadyen’s Araidh Something About Mary at Kilvara, dark brindle, attractive, little to separate. Lost out to 1 in final line-up, seemed to lose interest; 3 Kimber’s Kimstaff Bo Didley. GB (6) 1 Turner’s Tidestaff Firecracker, brindle, good head & expression, pleasing dark eye, clean straight front, level topline, moved freely; 2 Hart’s Aldrmarbulls Band Of Gold, r/w pied, very attractive, good head & expression with dark eye, clean front, moved nicely, little to separate; 3 Rogers’ Jaladast Miss Mac of Ynystaff. PGB (13,1) 1 Hirst & Bibby’s Taraiel Trinity, dark br/w, very eyecatching, good head & expression, tight lips, straight front, compact body, level topline & good depth of brisket, well muscled rear, moved freely, very smart; 2 Evans’ Greek Goddess In Red, r/w, pleasing head shape, lovely dark eye, level topline, moved well; 3 Beard’s Hasweth Truly Scrumptious. LB (15,2) 1 Day & Needham’s Stormpike Ebony And Ivory at Bullred, dark brindle smart bitch, lovely head shape, dark eye, strong muzzle, clean straight front, well muscled hindquarters with good turn of stifle, showed to advantage; 2 Valglo Anastasia, dark brindle, similar to 1 with all the required attributes in head & body shape, well balanced, moved freely; 3 Simpson’s Briganah Black Orchid. OB (15,2) Strong class with quality in depth. 1 Wall’s Ch Jupiter’s Destiny, red, excellent pigmentation, beautiful head shape, broad skull, deep through, pronounced cheek muscles, tight clean lips, dark, well placed eye, well ribbed body with level topline, fit & muscular, straight well boned front & a good turn of stifle at the rear, moved & handled very well. CC; 2 Smart & Pritchard’s Arnhem Twice As Nice, r/w, very classy bitch, ticks all the boxes, excels in head & expression, legs & feet of the best, well muscled body, moved freely, very difficult decision. The finished more mature picture presented by 1 stole the day. RCC ; 3 Plant’s Subaron Sharrann.
