LAKELAND CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 08 Judge: Mr Ernie Darby LAKELAND CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 08 Judge: Mr Ernie Darby
LAKELAND JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 08 Lakeland Terriers Not a big entry as one CC only is killing these vulnerable breeds & it does no good, but I had more dogs here than in Australians with two CCs & I could have easily justified four CCs on the quality of the exhibits. VD (0). PD (3) 1 Manser & English’s Nujax My Way, excellent head & expression, good neck, shoulders, front & feet, excellent short big ribbed body, good quarters, well presented & handled, moved well. RBD. Should make up. BP; 2 Matti & Omitogun’s Louieville Red King in Frontline, not so good in head but good neck, shoulders, legs & feet, short back, good set-on, moves well in profile. A bit tied in front. Very good coat; 3 Jones’ Glentops Blaize A Trail. JD (1) 1 Barnes-Davies’ Ebrooks Raffles, big enough & a bit long in back. Good head, coat & tailset, moved straight enough but close both ways. PGD (0). LD (1) A. OD (3,2) 1 Connell & Callon’s Sonorra Spellcaster, excellent quality grizzle, good head, neck, shoulders, body, coat & tail, very well presented & good type, correct Lakeland. Prefer just a fraction larger for a dog but will make a worthy champion. BD & RCC. Unlucky to meet such a bitch. VB (1) 1 Locke’s Rimsand Rural Rubix, 9 years grizzle, moved well when settled, nice head, neck, shoulders, in good hard condition. Coat could be better trimmed. PB (5,2) 1 Evans’ Saredon Picture This, very typy Lakie, good head & typical expression, good body, coat, legs & feet, very good coat, moved well; 2 McCallum’s Glentops Butterfly Kisses, neat head, fair shoulders, reasonable coat, moved OK. Needs time; 3 Graham’s Sonorra The Seductress at Stanstead. JB (2,1) 1 Ashe’s Ebrooks Ruby, lovely type, very good head, neck & shoulders, front legs & feet, good coat, very well presented, good set-on. To be critical would prefer fraction smaller but won RBB easily. PGB (4,1) 1 Thompson’s Brocolitia Follow On, up to size, good head, neck, shoulders, good short coupled body, good set-on. Very light in condition. Moves well in front, good coat; 2 Boyd & Locke’s Little Miss Muffet, nice body & set-on, nice legs & feet, good old fashioned sort. Head needs better trimming. Moved OK. LB (4,1) 1 Graham’s Stanstead Take A Chance On Me, black, needs to be handled to appreciate, correct head & ears, good neck, shoulders, short big ribbed body, moved well. Would prefer a touch more bone; 2 Caswell’s Warigal Pure Delight, 5 years grizzle, good type, body & coat, nice head. Moves close; 3 B Follow On. OB (4,1) 1 Averis & Scawthorn’s Ch Saredon For Your Eyes Only, what can I say, this red has matured into the best Lakie that I have judged in 40 years in breed. Excels everywhere for type & very sound & excellently presented. CC, BOB & G1; 2 Ashe’s Ebrooks Guinevere, 5 year old that I would have loved to make but had to give way to youngsters. She is type of her breeding which goes back to Classicway, in excellent coat & condition, correct head, neck, shoulders & body, moved well. Just beginning to show age in body; 3 Davani’s Saredon Unreachable Star at Arkama. ERNIE DARBY |
