My first championship show appointment. MPD (7,1a) 1 Wilkinson’s Otterkin Raconteur, grizzle dog who looked very much a baby, in good coat, nice head, eye & expression, moved well for one so young; 2 Harris’ Stoneygin Jacksson at Nickeltweed, nice puppy in good harsh jacket, pleasing head, dark eye, good reach of neck, nice body length, moved well; 3 Gilpin’s Otterbobs Riggindale. PD (7) 1 Davis’ Hesslemere Hi Karate, b/t dog, stood out here, super tight coat & thick pelt, lovely head & expression, correct mouth, nice reach of neck, good topline & tailset, confident on the move. BP; 2 McKenzie’s Akenside Zadok The Priest, heavier built to 1 but again good strong head & jaw, short on coat; 3 James Blackmine Rossington to Badgerholme. JD (12,2) 1 H Hi Karate: 2 Peacock’s Ragatam Harris, red in good thick double coat, good for size, pleasing head & expression, good topline held on the move; 3 Houston’s Earthwise Wolfbane. YD (6) 1 Crockett’s Badgerbeck Prestige at Melincoed, up to size, difficult to span. Had the best of coats in this class, good straight front & moved well; 2 E Wolfbane, better size than 1 but short on coat. Pleasing head, good shaped eye, correct bite, nice length of body, moved OK; 3 Dean’s Cederhill Authorized. ND (3) 1 James’ Blackmine Rossington to Badgerholme, red, pleasing outline but short on coat. Moved out well; 2 Fowler’s Olivander Wagstaff of Cringletie, good coat & pelt but rather on the heavy side, difficult to span, feet need to tighten up; 3 Taylor’s Oxcroft Kurundu von Foxthorn. PGD (10,1) 1 Morgan’s Badgerbeck Festive Spirit at Blewecourt, nice headed grizzle, good reach of neck, good in shoulders, length of body & tailset, in good harsh jacket, showed well; 2 McDougald’s Dandyhow Zat, heavier type to 1 with pleasing head, correct mouth & eye, in super harsh jacket, moved well; 3 Holland’s Carrock’s Single malt. LD (10,1) 1 Marr’s Ruelata Acrobat at Redfox, attractive red in good hard condition, best of coats, typical head with nice expression, good bodylines, showed well; 2 Johnson’s Karison Kasper, built on finer lines to 1 but well balanced in good coat & condition; 3 Fryer’s Irton Up Helly. OD (10) 1 Todd’s Todlaws Furl O Brise, masculine b/t in hard condition, typical head, correct shaped eye, strong jaw with perfect bite, nice reach of neck & body length, super carrot tail set well on, best of fronts & strong backend, moved out with drive. CC & BOB; 2 Archibald’s Ch Tweedburn Valentino, well known ch in good high condition, not a lot between them. Just preferred overall balance of 1. RCC; 3 Hollingsbee’s Ch Otterwood Amex. MPB (11,1) 1 Maltby’s Stoneygin Dolly Mixture at Pherjan, b/t, good otter head, strong in muzzle, good reach of neck & body, good double coat. Movement needs to tighten up; 2 Golding’s Foxcraig Magic Star at Beaconpike, handy size, sweet head & expression, well placed ears, good reach of neck & topline, strong hindquarters, moved & showed well. Lack of coat knocked her back; 3 Martin’s Stineval Celeste at Merumhor. PB (8,3) 1 Parker’s Conundrum’s Charismatic, small type of of equal proportions, in good coat, nice reach of neck, good topline & tailset. Movement needs to improve; 2 Davis’ Hesslemere Miss Lemon, grizzle, racy bodylines, pleasing head & eye, strong underjaw with correct bite, up to size; 3 Taylor’s Vallemoss Vera. JB (4) 1 Johnston’s Kamellia, well balanced grizzle, nice head & expression, correct in eye, well placed ears, good reach of neck & length of back, nice front, moved well. Short on coat; 2 Macrell’s Ollivander Wicked lady, nice type with pleasing head & bodylines, moved well. Short on coat; 3 Douglas’ Croalchapel Miss Meggie. YB (4) 1 Barrett’s Irton Strawberry Fair at Howthwaite, dark grizzle of correct size, in good coat & condition, pleasing in head & expression, good length of body & tailset, moved well on tight neat feet; 2 Johnston’s Johncroft Waterkelpie, red with good tight jacket & thick pelt, typical head, nice front & strong hindquarters; 3 Morgan’s Glebeheath Minnie The Motor at Blewecourt. NB (8,3) 1 H Miss Lemon; 2 Taylor’s Vallemoss Vera, grizzle of good proportions, nice feminine head, correct bite, in good harsh jacket; 3 Golding’s Foxcraig Magic Star at Beaconpike. PGB (12,1) 1 Fraser & Butler’s Wagtail Lass via YCart, nicely balanced bitch in harsh coat with typical head & expression, good in shoulders, nice lay of rib, straight in front & strong hindquarters, moved out well; 2 Gregory’s Remony Sunset Song, in fit hard condition, good harsh jacket, well muscled hindquarters. Deeper in brisket than 1; 3 Henderson’s Otterwood Salix. LB (12,2) 1 Wanless’s Thorneyburn Minnie The Minx, nice size b/t, one I have admired from the ringside, lovely feminine head, dark eye, correct bite, nice reach of neck into good topline & tailset, super jacket & thick pelt. CC; 2 Fraser & Butler’s Blue Tutu via YCart, b/t in good hard condition, pleasing outline, moved & showed well. Just preferred overall balance of 1; 3 Fryer’s Irton Tango. OB (7,2) 1 Hollingsbee’s Otterwood Ilex, nice size grizzle in super coat with thick pelt, feminine head, lovely expression, correct length of back with good tailset, straight front & good hind angulation, moved with drive. RCC; 2 McPherson’s Brumberhill Breeze, dark grizzle in good coat & condition, pleasing head, moved & showed well. Just preferred the head of 1; 3 Wanless’ Thorneyburn Hexham Hijinks.
