BULL MINIATURE JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 08

Miniature Bull Terriers

An entry of 23 from 20 dogs which was higher than many of the shows with CCs this year. Size seems to always rear its ugly head in some critiques but for me balance is far more important. Is a dog 2” over the measure but balanced all through worse than a dog 1” under the measure but looking like a sausage on legs? I think not!

JD (1) A

PGD (2)

1 Shaw’s Badlesmere Blackmail, tri just over measure with a powerful & well filled head, well arched neck leading to short back with a well set tail. Moved OK once settled. RBD.

OD (3)

1 Phillips’ Ch Bullyon Meet Your Measure, a little over the measure, white with the wickedest of eyes, powerful head, well filled with lovely profile & correct dentition, small ears bang on top, good neck & shoulder with short back & good deep chest, hocks well let down, moved well, lovely dog to go over. BOB.

JB (5)

1 Wiles Adderswood Vyvyan for Arcazy, 10 months dark br/w, cracking pup on the measure, good head with turn & fill, ears bang on top, good neck on well laid shoulder, good bone & feet, short back with good topline & well set tail, good rearquarters, moved & handled well, one for the future. RBB, BP, PG3;

2 Shaw’s Badlesmere Beeswax, 7½ months white, a real mini, under the measure, strong in head but still feminine, short back & good tail. A little loose on the move but time will see this right;

3 Slater & Thornton-Norris’ Designs Lady Ava.

PGB (6)

1 Bradley’s Surintonmini Slitherin with Jandybull, br/w, a little over the measure with a well filled & turned head. Good eye & ears which she used well, moved best of class;

2 Webb’s Justeph Silver Mistress in Miniscape, br/w with a good head & perfect mouth, short back, good bone to neat feet. Preferred the movement of 1;

3 Martin’s Skybull Bear Mini Mum.

OB (6)

1 McGregor’s Bullypins Millima of Merlindan, dark br/w, lovely bitch from all angles, powerful yet feminine head with turn & fill, perfect mouth & ears on top which she used well, long strong neck to good shoulders & short back with good topline, tailset a little high but this didn’t detract on the move which she did in typical jaunty style, unfortunate to meet the dog in such good form in the challenge. BB;

2 Jones’ Justeph Golden Wave, f/w with a good head. Needs a lot more ring training as she was difficult to assess. She really didn’t want to be there, a shame as with training she could be nice.
